Review of Jesus Camp (2006) by Jess L — 06 Feb 2013
Well crafted documentary about fundamentalist Christians in America. The content of this documentary is quite scary. Focusing on the children of these churches it is an amazing insight into the lives of these dedicated fundamentalist families.
The children presented are dedicated and focused on their spiritual beliefs and whilst this is refreshing to see it goes from being interesting to plain outright freaky. I applaud the filmmakers for bringing out such strong feelings in the viewer whilst presenting a reasonably unbiased view at this slice of Americana.
A simply presented documentary that makes you question many things, whether you have spiritual beliefs or not this is worth watching as long as you can remember to watch it with an open mind, and remember that people can believe in whatever they choose to.
