Review of Jesus Camp (2006) by Ollie C — 17 May 2009
This documentary really doesn't do much more than portray one group of evangelical Christians as a bunch of brainwashing nutjobs. And if you don't get that drift within the first five minutes of the movie, don't worry, you won't be "left behind" as the film spends the next hour and twenty minutes hammering home that "point".
As is the case with many documentaries of religious and/or political subject, I do believe that the authenticity of how things are portrayed on film is highly debatable. In the end, it doesn't wind up educating or serving much more purpose than what Dateline could have done in 40 minutes.
