Review of Jesus Camp (2006) by Joe K — 16 Feb 2010
All I can say is wow. Not for the documentary itself, but the content. Personally, I am an Athiest. I do not believe in any of the subject matter in this film, but if what that douche bag Ted Haggard said about Evangelicals making up 1/3 of the country, that is downright frightening.
The documentary itself isn't too well done, it's a basic run-of-the-mill piece. What sets this film off though, is the sheer horror of what's going on in it. These kids are basically brainwashed, and following that fat bitch.
Another thing. How are these parents not being thrown in jail or disciplined? They are putting their kids in the hands of that woman, who is seemingly breaking them down emotionally, and training them to follow complete bullshit, and become sheep.
Creepiest part of the film would have to be the older man who preaches about abortion, putting a piece of tape on the kids mouth that spells "LIFE", and then telling one of the little girls, "You look good with tape on your mouth.".
Another fun little fact: 75% of Evangelicals are home schooled. You wonder why these kids are socially awkward and dumb fucks. They are being taught by parents who are also socially awkward and dumb fucks.
It is a film that should be seen by everyone however. Hopefully if enough people saw how crazy these jackoffs were, someone could figure out a way to stop it, before our entire country is affected.
