Review of Jesse Stone: Night Passage (2006) by Sanity Assassin ! — 29 Jun 2009
A return to form for this series of television adaptations of Robert B. Parker's novels. Though this is the third film it is the first novel and tells the story of Stone's hiring as police chief of Paradise, MA.
The mystery is simplified from the novel but the screenwriters do a deft job at streamlining the plot. Selleck is comfortable in the lead role and is adept at delivering Parker's stylized dialogue, something that has tripped up other actors.
