Kevin Smith deserves a lot of credit for going outside of his comfort zone and making a dramatic/romantic comedy. It's generally enjoyable, with some very rough spots but some very redeeming sparks of brilliance.
Ben Affleck often seems to be uncomfortable delivering comic dialog.
