Review of Jersey Girl (2004) by Mloy X — 02 Jun 2014
Ollie (Ben Affleck): Come on, Dad. Don't you wanna live alone again?
Bart (George Carlin): Not as much as I don't wanna die alone.
I watched this movie again....yes, again and voluntarily, and I'm not ashamed to admit it but I still liked it. Like I stated before, this movie was really charming (and its additionally cool because it has a snippet of Sweeney Todd). The little girl (Raquel Castro) was perfect and adorable without being too overly cutesy. Not the best performance from Mr. Affleck and Jennifer Lopez was mildly tolerable (only because she ***SPOILERS*** died so early on in the film), but Liv Tyler was great and she's fast becoming one of my favorite actresses and George Carlin was nothing short of brilliant! He was the best part of the whole film, next to little Gertie (Raquel Castro). Even Will Smith's little cameo was kind of cute. Honestly, this may not be Kevin Smith's best film but it still remains one of my favorites among his work. (Yes, shocking I know), but I really do like it.
