Review of Jersey Boys (2014) by Nicole C — 13 Jul 2014
The play is vibrant, colorful, and it doesn't let up for an instant. Unfortunately, the movie is dull, blanched, and slowly-paced. Bland is unfortunately the word I would use to describe this film in one word.
It isn't the fault of the actors. It's the production which fails them. The sound, which is probably the most important part of this picture, is flat. The costumes are mostly good, but there are actresses who look way too modern in the hooker scene. And I'm not the sort of keen-eyed person who catches film flubs, but there is a 2014 plastic water bottle in plain view during the hot goods cellar scene on the left side of the screen. What the heck? Clint Eastwood should go back to talking to chairs.
