Review of Jersey Boys (2014) by Ryan S — 03 Dec 2014
Despite its overly dramatic acting at times the music and performance of its end who was also the lead of the Broadway play, I absolutely loved this movie. Perhaps due to my love of the music and the personal connection I have with those songs and remembering how my Dad (Rod Simpson) taught me how to sing harmonies while we listened.
I then went on to take his copy of The Four Seasons greatest hits do and wore it out so much that when I started DJ'ing he bought me another company so for those reasons I was able to look past some of the over the top dramatics.
But I totally dug it, learned a few new things like Joe Pesci's involvement with the group and perhaps where he got his goodfellas name Tommy DeVito. There was some definite homage to him and goodfellas so naturally I freaking loved that! But I give this movie a solid 4 stars.
It's worth it for the musical sequences. I'm going to have to dust off my old four seasons cd. Lol actually I now have it digital form. What's a cd?
