Review of Jerry Maguire (1996) by Geoffrey G — 08 May 2010
A great script supported by strong actors. There are a few tidbits to be annoyed with, like Bonnie Hunt's cliched girly comic relief, but even that works more than it would in another movie -- the drama gets so thick at times that even Bonnie Hunt's relief is not unwelcomed.
The bottom line is that it's very difficult to make a story with this much complexity actually function the way it's intended. Jerry Maguire is one of the most entertaining movies to come out of the 90s.
