"Show Me the Money!" A quote anyone can say whether or not they have seen this film. What is this film? Well, it's a romantic sports comedy-drama in the best way, when it balances each genre correctly.

Inspired by sports agent Leigh Steinberg, who alsomacted as Techincal Consultant on the crew, Jerry Maguire follows the title character getting fired from his job as a sports agent at SMI (Sports Management International) after writing a mission statement, and decides to start his own agency with a co-worker named Dorothy Boyd, a single mother, and attempts to use his only remaining client, an Arizona Cardinals wide receiver named Rod Tidwell to help him.

The film does well with giving us a four-way combination of sports, romance, drama, and of course, comedy, and not letting each overpower the other. The film does well with giving us the "fascinating world" of Jerry Maguire, which includes losing girlfriends, becoming incredibly desperate to get help from your last client after all the others were taken from your business rival Bob Sugar (laughable name, right?), and keeping himself together, which is a near-impossible task especially when all the events that happened prior to your firing (some life, huh?).

Despite all that, there are some upsides, such as keeping one client, meet his demands despite the trouble he's been going through with his contract, and have a relationship that actually lasts. The rest happens when it involves other characters and what goes on in the film, such as Jerry screaming "Show Me the Money" in order to keep Rod, and take percautions to keep himself from losing Dorothy (who else?), and making sure Rod gets a new contract (one hell of a stressful job, huh? In case you readers want to know, I'm having a few issues writing, so I'm trying to put in some comments in order to make the review very long.

). The film has lots of laughs, emotion, and tons of catchphrases, including "Show Me the Money", but also "Other football players may have the coin, but they won't have the 'Kwan'", "Help me help you", and of course, the two cheesiest lines in the entire movie, "You complete me," and, "You nad me at 'hello'.

" Cameron Crowe succeeds at balancing each genre, but also inputting catchphrases, unexpected hilarity, and character development, which resulted in an Oscar nod for Best Original Screenplay. Crowe also shines as director, capturing the laughs, emotion, and romance, but also capturing tons of incredible sequences involving sports, including plays, and an unexpecting dance from Rod after a massive hit playing football.

The cast is the best part of the film, especially Tom Cruise as Jerry Maguire, a down-on-his-luck sports agent with numerous issues, which led to a Best Actor Oscar nod, and Cuba Gooding, Jr. as Rod Tidwell, a desperate football player who loves to dancd and say (as I have mentioned so many ****ing times), "Show Me the Money," which led to an Oscar for Best Suplorting Actor, though I believe Ed Norton should've won for Primal Fear as he had a harder role and more devotion than Gooding, Jr.

Renà (C)e Zellwenger does a great job as Dorothy, and has perfect chemistry with Tom Cruise, but didn't receive any major accolades (was good, but not enough for Oscar, but possible Golden Globe consideration, though it didn't happen).

I also want to tell you how I rate my movies as you might be confused at my ratings. I rate the movies based on if I see any real flaws in them, and if they are good throughout. It's weird in my opinion, but it's how I work.

Anyways, this film is a must-see for sports fans, and even (though you don't see many or even any anymore), Tom Cruise fans.
