Review of Jennifer's Body (2009) by Jt K — 20 Feb 2011
Entertaining (if slight) horror yarn.
Jennifer may be the title character (and a surprisingly not-awful Fox gets top billing) but it's really the story of Seyfried's character "Needy" and her burgeoning identity - complete with ample hints of potential lesbi-onics.
It's all more entertaining than you might expect; the film is quite gory (if not actually scary) and though much of the horror is played for laughs, it is occasionally quite brutal (Jennifer's conversion into the succubus she becomes is appropriately disturbing.) Even if the underlying message regarding teenage sexuality and frien-emy relationships of adolescent girls is a bit muddled.
