In a middle of nowhere small town called Devil's Kettle high school nerd "Needy" (Amanda Seyfried) is concerned. Her bestfriend cheerleader Jennifer (Megan Fox) is acting strange, and slowly but surly the schools male population is dropping...

Billed as a horror/comedy except I wasn't scared and I hardly laughed and for a movie whose monster is SUPPOSSED to be a Succubus there is a distinct lack of eroticism. Granted a horror movie with a Succubus would be difficult to do right as they where tied up with medieval Judeo/Christian Folklore. Ironically enough the Sexual Revolution has probably defanged the Succubus/Incubus. That said what we have in Jennifer's Body isn't a Succubus despite what the film calls it. She eats people thats it, oh sure she uses the promise of sex to lure her victims in but the tease never goes threw, at best she resembles the Sirens of Greek Myth. Castings also a problem, sure Megan Fox looks great but never reaches the level of seduction or menace to be effective, Seyfried as the nerdy Needy just doesn't work, she just looks to good. Most of the guys in this have one and only one expression most egreigously Johnny Simmons as Chip Seyfrieds boyfriend. The only male standouts are a bit role by J.K. Simmons, Adam Brody as the leader of a Satan Worshiping Indie Band and Lance Henriksen in a cameo. Actually its a shame Brody isn't in this more he was quiet good. I watched the unrated version, coulda fooled me how frigging tame this was...you know what fuck it if your thinking of watching this movie go rent Species instead.

Oh one more thing, this whole thing starts because the Satanists Virgin sacrifice (ie Jennifer) isn't a virgin. Uh lads? You know you can check for that right? I mean your only trying to appease Hell's Grim Tyrant hear might wanna make extra sure is all I'm saying.
