Review of Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2012) by Nicole K — 30 Jul 2012
Jeff lives in his mom basement and seems to be inspired by the movie "Signs", he believes that everything has a reason and you should follow the "signs" to get to your real fate. His brother pat meanwhile has wife and lives in a apartment. (while his marriage seems to go down the drain) Jeff follows a "sign" that leads him to his brother by hooters. And the adventure begins.
When I started to watch this movie I expected a comedy. Hence the the two main roles are played by cometic actors. It's very much not a comedy.
There are three story's here Jeff's, Pats, and there mothers. They are all facing personal problems, and are given situations to confront them.
This movie surprised me with good performances and writing. I could really relate with the characters and I feel for there situations. Which really made it get a little deeper.
Jeff and pats story's were well put. But the mothers I could not fully enjoy. I was very unsatisfied with the conclusion of the mothers story and felt it was to awkward. I did think the camera work was a little annoying and to close to a tv show. The tie up off the three story's was also a little anti-climatic.
What ever "signs" bring you to this movie. Would they make your fate feel any different? Decide for yourself.
