Review of Jeepers Creepers 3 (2017) by Allan C — 18 Mar 2018
This underrated horror series is not going to appeal to all tastes, but this third installment absolutely delivers the goods for fans of the series. The Creeper returns, as does Jonathan Breck playing The Creeper, with series writer/director Victor Salva recounting the events between the first two films, which involves a small town sheriff and a team of Creeper Hunters led by Stan Shaw taking down this flesh and blood urban legend.
I think what I like most about this series is that it's basically a straightforward monster movie set-up, but each film stands apart from the one preceding it. The first film was more of a creepy "Children of the Corn" like rural urban legend story.
The second film was more of an action packed horror suspense film. This third film combined those two elements, adding onto the lore surrounding The Creeper while also providing a number of suspenseful and scary action set pieces.
The budget on "Jeepers Creepers 3" is noticeably smaller than the previous films, but it's nonetheless an effective horror film that's filled with suspense, action, and send-a-chill-up-your-spine horror imagery.
It's also a lot of fun to see the return of the BEATINGU truck driven by The Creeper from the first film. Overall, the third entry is not as frightening as the first film and is not as large of scale as the second film, and is easily the weakest of the three, but it's still a wildly fun horror film for genre fans.
