Review of Jeepers Creepers (2001) by Paul O — 14 Oct 2012
It's almost impossible to like the brother and sister duo, for if they had the intellect of an 8-year-old "Jeepers Creepers" would've ended after fifteen minutes - why go back to the church? Furthermore, and more troubling, is the creature who goes after young kids' parts (sound familiar, Mr. Salva?) to eat and stash away in a catacomb of sorts. This pedophiliac creature couldn't have worked even with a different director, for the story is a jest and the scares are non-existent. As mentioned above, if one does not care for these morons it's doubly hard to sit through ninety minutes of them becoming self-conscious of their mistakes too late. As for any notable thrills or kills this is as tame as they come.
"Jeepers Creepers" is a well-photgraphed, prosaic picture that is scary and creepy for all the wrong reasons.
