On par with the original, but in a different way. Whereas the first one was tense and creepy, this one hits you right in the face with the Creeper, who was only shown sparingly in the original. The effects are good, but the story is played too much for laughs and creates little tension.
The school characters - both adults and kids - behave so irrationally it is ludicrous. Decent but not great horror.
