Review of Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles (1976) by Alison W — 18 Apr 2008
Yes, it requires patience to watch the somewhat tedious details of the life of a Belgian housewife, but there are some of the funniest, oddest conversations I've ever heard between Jeanne and her son, and the whole film is stunning.
And it is available in a Chantel Akerman box set in Europe that is quite pricey, but probably well worth it.
