Review of JCVD (2008) by Lesley N — 22 Jul 2009
Ever wondered what would happen if the muscles from Brussels went back home and got involved in a bank (well, post office) robbery. Probably not, but to save yourself the bother, someone made this film.
Nicely shot in sepia tones and with a small but effective soundtrack this was a brilliant watch. Contains buckets or irony, and profound yet impenetrible ponderings from Mr JCVD on his life and his celebrity.
If you'd ever thought Being John Malkovitch would be slightly improved if the leading character had a European background and bigger biceps, then this is the film for you.
