Review of JCVD (2008) by Mark E — 21 Feb 2010
This shouldn't work in any level but does. Crossing over into "reality" rarely goes right on the big screen and breaking the fourth wall normally only works well with comedy (Ferris Bueller and Murphy's "look" in Trading Places springing to mind).
Van Damme puts in a great performance and actually acts. Extra star for great use of Baby Huey's "Hard Times" as intro music.
