Hit and miss.

Some of it was really hilarious like George Carlin as a hitchhiker, the moment where Bob snaps and yells at Jay and the kickass introduction/origin story, but a lot of jokes were really cheesy and lazy. The orangutan, the dick-sucking jokes, the action sequence with Mark Hamil, Will Ferrell's part, the news report about the C.L.I.T. and the over-empahized references to previous Kevin Smith films (we get it, you were in Chasing Amy! How is this funny the tenth time?), etc. This movie is full of lame, overused gags.

The thing I couldn't stand the most were the many occasions where the actors would look right into the camera after a reference to Kevin Smith and give us a disappointed stare. I think it would have been hilarious one time (and the first time they did it, I thought it was funny), but this movie bashes that same joke over your head repeatedly until you hate it.

I liked the way they connected Chasing Amy and Clerks to the movie, to show the interconnectivity of the View Askewniverse.

They also made a good conclusion about the internet, especially since this was made in the early days of the internet, before anything like YouTube or Twitter; people will make dumb, rude, nasty comments because that's what it's there for. There's not much you can do except not take it too seriously.

One of my favourite parts was the ending, where Jay and Silent Bob beat the crap out of the people who posted mean comments about them. Perfect.
