Review of Jaws: The Revenge (1987) by Thomas H — 04 Jul 2015
Let's face it. The plot of "Jaws: The Revenge" is so ridiculous that you can't even take it seriously. Even if you accept that it is not a serious film, "Jaws: The Revenge" is still a lousy film.
The Jaws franchise has gone from a film about a large shark attacking swimmers, to a film about a large, hyper-intelligent shark that is singling out the family of the man who killed the first shark. Obviously, this is just so stupid in so many ways. Perhaps worse still, there is absolutely no suspense at all; you can see the shark coming from a mile away. Without the suspense, it is just a shark attacking people, and that's actually kind of boring.
"Jaws: The Revenge" is even more boring than "Jaws 3", with the added flaw of a convoluted plot. I've seen documentaries on the Discovery Channel more interesting than "Jaws: The Revenge", and that is a shame, since "Jaws" used to be the biggest name in suspense.
