Review of Jaws 3-D (1983) by Prkprk P — 05 Jul 2009
Made during the big 3-D craze of the early 80's(ok maybe this was just a couple of movies). It had several established stars in Quaid and Gossett Jr. ( who would later be paired in Enemy Mine) and Lea Thompson. The problem with these 80's 3-D movies were they had no story or direction as they were just vehicles for the 3-D effect, as lame as that effect was, it also gave me headaches from watching.
The movie can be summarized as follows: baby man-eating shark and mother in a water-park with under-water in-closure, mayhem follows. Well not much mayhem and certainly not the suspense of the original.
Part of the marine mammals movement of the mid-80's along with most notably Star Trek IV and the David Brin novel "Startide Rising.".
