"Jaws 3" clearly expresses one interest, and that is to cash in on a successful thriller. Whereas "Jaws 2" was still good popcorn fun, "Jaws 3" is a gimmicky failure. Not only is the 3D unimaginative and the effects bad, but the characters just aren't that interesting.
If you're viewing it as a worthy successor to its source material, it's not worthy. But if you're viewing it as cheesy midnight trash, it'll do fine.
