Completely unnecessary but still rather fun b-movie than turns the killer shark into a Jason Vorhees type teen hunter. There aren't many entertaining shark flicks, so this sits in that niche bracket with Deep Blue Sea.

Also coined the tagline "just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water..." Which is probably more famous than the film and often associated with its far superior predecessor.
