Review of Jaws (1975) by Joe N — 09 Jan 2014
This movie is an ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE. I was not surprised a bit when I saw that it got 100% on here. This movie has just about every aspect that a viewer would want out of a thriller. It's suspenseful, exciting, epic, and JUST AWESOME.
I think the camera work was great with its shark point of view. This movie is 2 hours long but we don't even see the Shark until 1 hour into the movie which was a great way to build suspense. The second hour of the film is dominated by the dynamic trio of Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss who are out in the middle of the ocean for days simply trying to kill the shark.
That half of the film keeps you glued to your seat. This film took the world by storm, made people afraid to go into the water and really jump started Steven Spielberg's career. There will NEVER be another shark movie HALF AS GOOD AS THIS.
