What is there to say about Jaws that hasn't been said already? Jaws is just one of Steven Spielberg's many masterpieces and is the main reason why people are still afraid to swim in the ocean. Spielberg does a fantastic job at creating some intense and suspenseful scenes that had me on the edge of my seat.
Adding to that intensity is John Williams brilliant score, without his score most of these scenes wouldn't have been as suspenseful. Williams's score is also one of the best in film history. Like I said in my review for The Exorcist you would expect some dated effects, but the effects for Jaws hold up entirely because they are so incredible.
Jaws's screenplay is quite riveting because of it's engaging story, well written dialogue, and cool characters that the audience can actually care about. Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, and Richard Dreyfuss all give wonderful performances as the main heroes of this extraordinary blockbuster along with an amazing supporting cast.
Jaws isn't just one of the best blockbusters ever made, but one of the best movies ever made. If you have not had the opportunity to see Jaws yet than get on it immediately because it is one of those movies that you must see before you die.
