Without a doubt the finest film Spielberg has put his hands on. Only Spielberg could have made this movie into the massive achievement it is. Only he could guides the fixes from the less than perfect novel, only he could have induced generations of terror out of hiding a malfunctioning shark, and only he could have brought John Williams on to create the music that automatically makes you look behind you.
