Review of Jaws (1975) by Henry E — 23 Dec 2014
It is probably one of the best films I have ever seen. Amazingly the film hasn't aged to a massive extent; the shark remains a frightening threat and the attacks are terrifying. The use of suspense is its crowning glory, giving birth to a pop culture phenomenon.
It is not just the shark that makes the film great though; the well developed male trio exchange poignantly executed conversations, while it is there believable struggle that hooks us and doesn't let go.
