Review of Jawbreaker (1999) by Krystina D — 10 Aug 2007
The first time I saw this I hated it. Liked the ending though. Still do. After rewatching this it has grown. It wants to be B-Movie ironic cool, but only gets a smidge of the way there. The slo-mo YooHoo strutt is stellar.
As is some of the dialogue, mostly sounding like oneliners you'd hear at a gay clubs powder room. Some dialogue is gratingly unbearable. And makes the viewer roll their eyes, I know I did in the theatre.
But Ethan Erickson makes up for that in abundance.
