Review of Jawbreaker (1999) by Sw B — 29 Dec 2009
Jawbreaker delivers a somewhat unbelievable yet pleasingly entertaining story. Very dark in nature, the film outlines the cover up of the murder of Reagan High's most popular school girl. Contrastingly, there is a lot of humour as the film progresses and reveals more of the monotonous lives of the characters.
The music perfectly encapsulates the nature of the characters, but is ahead of its time in creating a Desperate Housewives feel to it.
There is also great tension in the story that will only be resolved at the end of the movie, which may turn off some audiences.
