Brings back my favorite goalie like the previous entries (in a badass way) while putting him in space. To most fans, the space idea is stupid but Jason slashing his way through teens at camp 9 times gets a little tiring, so I welcomed it.

Jason himself is even less scary than, say Part 6, but once he gets his upgrade, he's like Terminator which made for fun times. Character-wise, the robot Kay-Em (Lisa Ryder) and badass Sergeant Brodski (Peter Mensah) made sure to keep me watching every time they popped up.

Anytime they shared fighting scenes with Jason is definitely the high points. Kane Hodder rocks once again as Jason here too. Though he seems more human, he still conveys the pissed off feel that Jason should have.

Gore is all about fun times and this entry seemed to remember that. Yay for it! A lot of gross stuff here. Isaac did really well. The setting is post-modern and that's exactly how he treated it with good angles and shots.

There are some excellent ideas that the crew didn't take very far, though. Uber-Jason, for example, should've done a lot more than punch a robot and break doors. Seeing him fight Brodski or kill SOMEBODY in his robo-mode would've been nice.

The characters, save the former two, were all back to dumbass horny teens in this one. Yes, it is a slasher flick and you know they'll eventually die, but I miss the days where you rooted for the victims as opposed to the killer.

A lot of them pull stupid moves, say stupid lines and some of them come across as total idiots. Even the heroine didn't do much here. The score could've also used more classic 'Ki Ki Ki Ma Ma Ma' and maybe even some numbers to make the scenes more exciting.

But I digress, this is a Friday movie and I can't help but enjoy myself when they're done right. Add to that a great scene involving two teens loving premarital sex (you'll see), the nifty looking sets, and the 'fun times' aura and you get a good entry in the series.

This one was made for fans, the average viewer will probably loathe it. Jason Lives.
