Review of Jason X (2001) by Tomasan — 08 Feb 2010
JASON X! deserves an academy award! Only for being THE BEST MOVIE EVER! Hahah well right next to Bride of Chucky :) Nah i'm playing of course, but as a true Friday the 13th fan I have to say that it is a very fun, cheese-fest to watch every now and then.
I was hoping to do a blu-ray review, but I haven't been able to find this yet in hi-def or blu-ray. Anyways, Jason is frozen in cryo-freeze and thawed out in the year 2455 only to wreak the normal kind of terror on a group of science students aboard a research vessel called the Grendel.
The movie moves pretty fast paced, but it lacks any real depth or story. Basically a new effort to boldly take Jason to the next frontier, which in this case is outer space. I guess I can't act so surprised, I mean he has taken New York, been to hell, fought Freddy, had a remake, what else is left? I got it: Jason Goes to Candyland! Or even better Jason Takes Narnia! 4-starz for true greatness.
