The body-jumping hell worm Jason isn't nearly as stupid as I'd been made to believe. Actually, it makes a bit of sense when you learn the Voorhees' were fooling around with the Necronomicon.
This movie is far more entertaining than the tedious parts 4 through 8 of the Friday the 13th franchise, that's for sure.
