Review of Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993) by Ben D — 07 Nov 2014
Well to be honest this is much better than the last five movies. Still terrible of course, there's no denying that, but it is much better. What makes it better is because they actually explain why Jason can't die (it's still kind of dumb and illogical, but they tried, which is more than the other movies did) and it isn't just the "chase the dumb teenagers around a small area" formula.
There is chasing, but it isn't as tedious as before. There is one thing I actually liked about the movie, which was the last thirty seconds. I won't spoil it, but I thought it was pretty cool.
All that said, it has many, many faults. Remember the end of the last movie? Jason was in Manhattan. Now for no reason, he's back at Crystal Lake and I have no idea why. The characters are still idiots.
There were many points in the film where I yelled at the screen for them to do the obvious. Lastly, our main character gets several fingers broken fairly early on in the film. Alright fine. I don't have a problem with that.
What I do have a problem with is that later, he is seen punching people and doing other various things that require the use of hands.
