Review of Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993) by Lee B — 13 Apr 2011
Jason Goes to Hell- The Final Friday is a really, really stupid movie but it's as if the filmmakers turned the Friday mythology on its head, which is worth something considering the Paramount Friday the 13th's were very hack-slash-repeat.
There's barely any Jason Voorhees in the film and it's way too funny to be scary. To date, I haven't seen all of the movies in the franchise, but this one seems like it is one of the more bizarre installments that's likable for fans of the series due to the death scenes and many funny moments.
The opening scene is very cool (didn't see that coming) and the ending is a good teaser. It's not going to win any new converts to the series, but Jason Goes to Hell is surprisingly fun.
