Review of Jason Bourne (2016) by Hank H — 05 Sep 2016
Just when you thought there was closure and sighed big relief at the end of Supremcy, a dirty salesman says "but wait, there's more!" This isn't to suggest that I don't want more Bourne it's to suggest that they need to do something drastically different with him.
Was the acting atrocious or was the directing? I'm not sure. Notably rotten performances from Julia Stile s, Matt Damon (he didn't have many lines at all, so not really his fault but what he did have...meh) and the main female protagonist was as robotic as a SL8500. Tommy Lee Jones is an amazing actor and was incredibly solid but his age has caught up to him and he looked like he could barely walk throughout half the movie.
Perhaps, if there is another movie in this series, they will utilize Bourne in a more creative way. Perhaps they can bargain with him to save the country...or maybe Greengrass's writing and directing. Please, get Doug Liman back.
