Review of Jason Bourne (2016) by Shakespeare G — 29 Aug 2016
The fourth Matt Damon entry in a five film Bourne set of films, Jason Bourne despite the great assemblege of a cast old and new, has some troubles finding an engaging conspiricy to keep the relevancy of the series alive.
In this case, involving a social media Steve Jobs type being woven into the CIA fold to help rejuvinate the program that created Bourne, and doing a slim releveation of Bourne's fathers involvement in the origin of the program to bring him out of hiding provides little of the OMG factor to keep the brain involved in the proceedings, leaving the spectator action to do most of the heavy lifting as well as enjoying the latest performances by rockstar Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones.
Standard action and a couple of chuckles at the breaks in logic in places, most especially the not quite right geography to get from Ceasers to the Rivera during the climatic car chase. Average but much better than a lot that came out this summer.
