Review of Jason Bourne (2016) by Solidity Q — 28 Dec 2016
Jason Bourne is like a shadow boxer. It's got the cast, director and all the right moves but without a Robert Ludlum book to provide a sturdy core it's left thrashing around in thin air. It's a terrible shame as so much of the formula that helped the original movie trilogy redefine the action genre for the 21st century are here.
.. but where's the bloody script? Car chases, handheld camera-work, muscular hand to hand combat are now 2 a penny. Without an intelligent, exciting and gripping story Jason Bourne is MIA and sadly I think brings a lacklustre end to what was a once superior and thrilling film franchise.
