Review of Jason Bourne (2016) by David M — 12 Jan 2017
The fifth Bourne film, but only the fourth to star MAtt Damon as Jason Bourne (after the character is not even in The Bourne Legacy), this one starts with Damon stating:
"I remember. I remember everything.".
He doesn't *quite* remember everything, however, as, most of the film is to do with him trying to piece together what happened to his father (shown in flash-backs) and, more tellingly, who was responsible for his death.
Julia Stiles pops up again as (ex)CIA analyst Nicki Parson, but she's not the main female character this time around: instead, we have Alicia Vikander stepping into her role and into Joan Allen's CIA director Pamela Landy role: we also have Tommy Lee Jones taking over from Brian Cox.
I felth this was better than the previous installment if not quite as good as The Bourne Supremacy (the third one), with more of Matt Damon running around/shooting/beating people up while men (and women) in suits feverishly type away on keyboards in the background!
