Review of Jason and the Argonauts (1963) by Ryan V — 06 Mar 2012
I'm very fond of both Greek mythology and stop-motion animation, so this vintage adventure movie is right up my alley. Jason and the Argonauts retells the titular character's epic quest for the golden fleece with the classical feel one finds in old fashioned Hollywood movies.
While very much of its time, I personally found the postured acting to be appealing. And, of course, I am a sucker for the imaginatively crafted monsters that Ray Harryhausen weaves into the live action spectacle.
