War flicks do not usually click with me but Jarhead was a pleasing surprise. If Jake G., one of my faves, wasn't in it I probably would have missed it. Turned out to be quite disturbing to see a totally believable story of not only the physical horrors of combat, but the often worse mental hell that soldiers go through.
The relationships of the characters were the crux of the matter to me. Almost all experience an episode of psychotic breaks. Of course, the fact that this film was based on a non-fiction gives it an extra boost.
