Review of Jarhead (2005) by Clayton A — 18 Feb 2011
I found this film to be completely underrated. I found it to be on par with Full metal Jacket. I believe that this film represented the ground soldiers view for this war brilliantly. They spent months in the desert waiting to be called upon.
But, they were forced to watch the airplanes fight the whole war. And finally when they were called upon they figured out that the Iraqi army was already in full retreat. So I found the lack of action essential to pass the feeling of that war.
Just as it was essential for Oliver Stone to show the true grit and evil represented by a select few in the Vietnam war. All in all I found Jarhead to be a great work of art and just outside the top spot for those select few awe inspiring war films(I.
E. Platoon and Band Of Brothers).
