Review of Jannat (2008) by Tushad C — 31 May 2008
Yet another blockbuster hit from the Batt camp. Director Kunal Deshmukh puts out a story to his audience of a passionate guy played by Emraan Hashmi, who will go to all lengths to get what he wants. Rolling in money pretty soon, he gets the girl of his dreams; however the line of work he takes is his downfall.
Newcomer Sonal Chauhan, complements her on-screen lover and pulls out a good performance, her role had substance and some hard hitting dialogues which doesnâ??t make her one of the normal dumb-bellas often seen recruited.
The film based on cricket match fixing hits out hard on many players of the Indian cricketing world, with no names taken, nothing much can be done. Cleverly made with a slight disappointing climax, well supported by Indian Premier League presenters Sameer Kochar and Vishal Malhotra and a brilliant soundtrack that makes you have to buy the album.
