Review of Jane Wants a Boyfriend (2015) by Frances H — 07 Apr 2016
First and foremost; I really enjoyed this film. I found myself experiencing events through Jane's perspective and the actress did a wonderful job of conveying the characters warmth and humour. This is fundamentally a story about two sister's and the romance manages to be sweet and significant without monopolizing the story.
The overprotective elder sister Bianca is an important example of how short-sighted and stifling one can become when one allows fear to direct their relationship. As an audience member I was able experience all the self-doubt this character projected as well as the liberation of finally letting go.
