Review of Jane Eyre (2011) by Lori L — 16 Sep 2011
After a slow start, I found myself start to really like this film. It is very cinematic too. Michael Fassbender makes a good Rochester, and has considerable on screen chemistry with Mia Wasikowska (Jane) . All the essential ingredients for a good adaptation of Jane Eyre are there. The use of flashbacks, is a little confusing at the start, but I can understand why they've been used as part of the Narrative style.
Dame Judi Dench makes a very compassionate, and wise Mrs. Fairfax.
A good take on a very familiar story, although not definitive for me - but a very good film adaptation, not to be sniffed at.
