Very flat. Hard to understand the 'connection' between Jane and Rochester - as they hardly say a word to each other. No chemistry. I also dont understand how reviews have said that the film is very true to the book - I didn't find this at all.
If you haven't seen this story before on screen - don't bother with this version, watch the TV adaptation (Toby Stephens, Ruth Wilson) which is far and away the best, and closest adaptation of the book. Better still, read the book first and THEN watch the TV adaptation.
Either way, avoid this like the Typhus.
