Oscar Mia.

Mia is Jane Eyre. This is one of the best screen adaptations of any novel, let alone the best Jane Eyre. Why? It captures the essence of the book, breathes life and meaning into a well worn story, is brilliantly acted by the entire cast, but especially by Mia,is directed with a sure hands and looks and feels like the era it is set in.

It may surprise some who thought the awful Alice in Wonderland captured Mia's potential. Those of us who caught her performance as the teenage gymnast in In Treatment got some idea of how good she is, and now we know. She is the Cate Blanchet of the 2010's. She is better looking, more flexible and does accents better than any Australian actor, especially the awful Russell Crowe.

If you think you've seen this story better told, I'd really like to know where - except in the source novel.

One of the best films of the year and a must for Oscar nominations. See it and weep.
