Review of Jane Eyre (2011) by Randall A — 21 Sep 2011
Yet another Jane Eyre adaptation, and to me, up there with the 1944 Orson Welles/Joan Fontaine version, although quite different in its structure. Cary Fukunaga made his name making "Sin Nombre", and you can actually see a lot of similarities in the drama and storytelling in Jane Eyre, but the camerawork, designs, and beauty are yet another world and place.
Very well crafted and well acted too. Too bad it didn't find a wider audience when it was released theatrically.
