Review of Jane Eyre (2011) by Matheus C — 07 Oct 2011
This is an exquisetly produced adaptation, but it doesn't add anything new to the gothic romance genre. Besides the presence of Michael Fassbender and Judi Dench to shine some light into the proceedings, the whole thing is as cold and distant as Mia Wasikoska's gaze.
The real drama seems to be lurking in the shadows of Adriano Goldman's menacingly dark cinematography.
