I really wanted to enjoy this, partly to be proven wrong of my previous opinions of these kind of dramas of being turgid and boring. Unfortunately this did nothing to change my opinion. Dame Judi Dench was great and I now know the story of Jane Eyre are the only two good things to come out of it.
I'm told there are better adaptations out there. I'm just going to trust that that is so :).
